RIVERDALE, NY – Despite a pair in double-figures, the Manhattan Jaspers Men's Basketball team (8-12, 4-5 MAAC) fell to the Saints of Siena University (12-7, 5-3 MAAC) by a score of 74-59 inside Draddy Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Opening the game on a seven-to-none run were the opposition, before Terrance Jones' three-pointer stopped the bleeding three minutes into the contest.
- Back and forth both teams went before the Saints widened their lead to double figures. It was Quron Elliott who sank home a floating jumper after Jaden Winston was unsuccessful on the step-back three-point attempt.
- With three and a half minutes remaining in the first half, Elliott, again, found his rhythm courtesy of a tough look for Marko Ljubicic, and instead went the safe route to the freshman, just bringing the deficit to as little as 12.
- Out of the under-four media timeout, sophomore forward Fraser Roxburgh made a splash with a step-back three-pointer from the wing to liven the Draddy crowd.
- The Jaspers would go on an 8-2 run thanks to a pair of Devin Dinkins' triples, before Elliott added another five points on his own, to bring the deficit back to 12.
- Later in the game, Jones increased the total for the Jaspers with another two points, to round out his second-best scoring performance as a member of the Green and White.
