MANHATTAN, N.Y. - The Manhattan College men's and women's track & field teams completed Day 1 of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Indoor Championships being held at the historic Armory in Manhattan.

The men sit in fourth with 34 points after day one. Rider leads the men's standings with 75 points.

Alex Kristeller capped his stellar indoor season with a gold medal in the men's weight throw en route to a new MAAC Championship record. Kristeller recorded a distance of 21.80 meters (71-06.25) beating the old record of 21.33.
RJ Decker placed for the third straight year in the event with a runner-up finish tonight with a mark of 20.10 meters (65-11.50).
Myron Corpuz's mark of 16.29m (53-05.50) was good enough for seventh place, while
Joseph Pelio placed eighth with a distance of 15.53m (50-11.50) to give the Jaspers 18 total points.

Jackson Haft leaped to a height of 3.75 meters (12-03.50) in the pole vault to collect three points and a sixth place finish for Manhattan.Â

Ivan Lytovchenko picked up fourth place accolades in the high jump with a height of 1.95m (6-04.75) and a seventh-place showing in the long jump with a bound of 6.67 meters (21-10.75).

Jaiden Bradshaw,
Travis Delaney, and
Jaxon Newton - placed sixth in the distance medley relay in 10:25.48.

Darion Lopez finished eighth in the 60-meter prelims and eight in the 200 meters to earn a spot in both of tomorrow's finals after sprinting to a time 6.91 and 22.01, respectively.Â

In the men's 400 meters, both
Noah Jefferson and Alonzo Harrison will advance to tomorrow's finals. The duo went 1-3 in the prelims with Jefferson's time of 49.32 leading the way. Harrison clocked a time of 49.71

The women closed out the first day of competition in second place with 44 points, behind Rider who leads with 51.5 points.

In the women's field events, Manhattan swept the top three spots in the weight throw.
Kristin Stickdorn led the way with a gold medal in the weight throw with a mark of 17.92 (58-9.5).
Alexandra Caraher placed second with a distance of 17.80m (58-4.75), while
Mary Gill rounded out the podium placing with a launch of 17.36m (56-11.5).
Bekah Bouton's toss of 14.83 meters (48-08.00) increased Manhattan's point total to 27. #GoJaspers

Andria Scaglione came went from eight place to first place with six laps to go to take home the 5,000-meter run crown with an impressive time of 16.49.16.Â

Isabella Sing raced to a time of 9.18 in the 60-meter hurdles for a lane placement in tomorrow's finals. She also placed fifth in the long jump with a distance of 5.52 meters (18-01.50).

The distance medley relay of Bailed Christofis,
Julia Hendricks, Elaina Barista, and
Bella Cannizzo registered a time of 12:50.52.

In the women's 400 meters,
Martina Martinez crossed the line in a time of 59.85 to advance to Sunday's finals.Â
