EDISON, N.J. --
Will Hesslink was named MAAC Pitcher of the Week following his performance on the bump last week, conference officials announced on Tuesday.
This is the first weekly honor for a Manhattan baseball player this season.
Hesslink fired a complete game shutout to open the Jaspers MAAC series last week against Mount St. Mary's. In the game, he yielded only three hits and sat 10 batters down on strikes.
On the year, the Jaspers Friday starter has turned in five quality starts this season. Hesslink will return to the mound, alongside the rest of the Green and White, this weekend up in Buffalo when they take on Canisius.
