RIVERDALE, N.Y. – Manhattan women's swimming and diving team finished the third day of the MAAC Championships in eighth with 107 points.
In the preliminaries,
Abbey Mink placed 13th in the 100-yard butterfly, securing a spot in the B final. In the finals, Mink finished 13th in the 100-yard fly with a time of 57.82, earning the Jaspers four points.
Also swimming in the 100 fly were
Sophia Leber,
Eva Canning, and
Juliana Saric, placing 33rd, 34th, and 35th. For the 200-yard freestyle,
Mackenzie Tuttle placed ninth with a final time of 1:59.07, putting herself in the B group for the finals. Also participating in the prelims for this race were
Shayna Millard and
Kate Maio with prelim times of 2:00.59 and 2:10.13. In the 100-yard backstroke prelims,
Kyla Guilfoil placed 12th with a time of 59.04, setting a new school record and qualifying her for the B final. Millard also swam this race and finished 23rd.
Tuttle placed 10th in the 200-yard freestyle finishing in the B group in 1:56.15, earning the Jaspers seven points. Guilfoil finished in the 12th in the 100-yard backstroke (59.34), securing the Jaspers five points.
For time trials, Tuttle and Natalia Velez-Serrano swam the 100-yard breaststroke. Tuttle finished first (1:10.66), followed by Velez-Serrano (1:17.81). In the 50-yard butterfly time trial, Leber swam solo in 28.64 seconds.
In team events, the women finished ninth in the 400-yard medley relay with a time of 4:23.97. The team consisted of Canning, Velez-Serrano, Leber, and
Jessica O'Brien.
