Zens, Williamson Guide Swimming and Diving against Monmouth

WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Manhattan Men's and Women's Swimming continued its 2025-26 season against the Monmouth Hawks inside the Richard E. Steadman Natatorium on Thursday evening, but fell by a score of 165-83, and 146-84, respectively.

HOW IT HAPPENED FOR THE WOMEN

·      For the women in the 50 Yard Backstroke, the Jaspers found its form with a strong performance from Shayna Millard to record a time of 30.21 and add four points to the Green and White's tally on the evening.

·      Pacing Manhattan in the 50 Yard Freestyle, was Jaila Williamson, who narrowly edged Monmouth with a time of 25.56, and seal nine points for the Jaspers.

·      In the 100 Yard Freestyle, it was Elle Feneide who recorded a time of 56.97 and posted four points to the scoresheet. One second behind, was Millard with a 57.96.

·      For the 200 Yard IM, it was Leticia Fontes and Eva Canning who combined for the possible 13 points in the respective event, with times of 2:28.95 and 2:38.31.

·      In the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay, Manhattan took 15 points from Monmouth with both teams recording a lap time of 26.54 and 35.49.

HOW IT HAPPENED FOR THE MEN

·      In the 1000 Yard Freestyle, the Green and White placed second courtesy of Lucien Zens with a time of 10:51.53, to capture four points in the respective event.

·      Zens continued his dominant performance with a first place finish in the 200 Yard IM, with a time of 2:13.99, nearly two seconds ahead of Campbell Heiz for 13 combined points.

·      Leading the charge in the 100 Yard Butterfly, was Gavin Harding, who logged a time of 54.88 with nine points added. Just behind Harding, was Matt Rogliano and Abelardo Cartagena, who sealed the 16 possible points for the Jaspers in the respective event.

·      In the 200 Yard Freestyle, it was Rogliano who logged two points for Manhattan, with a time of 1:54.54 to register a fourth-place finish for the Jaspers.

·      Finally, in the team 200 Yard Freestyle Relay, the Jaspers found itself capturing the combined 15 points with lap times of 22.20 and 23.74 for the respective groups.

UP NEXT 

The Green and White are back in action on Tuesday, November 11, when the Jaspers face off against the Peacocks of Saint Peter's University from the Eugene and Teresa Imperatore Swimming and Diving Center in Jersey City.
