RIVERDALE, N.Y. –The Jaspers fall to Niagara today in Draddy. The final set scores were 25-18, 25-23, and 25-20.
The Jaspers lost all three sets today against the Purple Eagles, coming closest in the second set, scoring within two points.
The Jaspers started the first set off strong, keeping it within a few points early on. After playing catch-up for most of the set, the Jaspers went on a massive comeback run, going 9-2 against the Purple Eagles. This run put them up for the first time in the set, giving them a three-point lead over the Purple Eagles.
In the second set, the Jaspers again played catch-up but were able to stick with it for the entire set. The Jaspers came closest towards the end of the set, bringing the game within one point at 22-21. Despite their best efforts, the Jaspers dropped the set after going back and forth with the Purple Eagles, finishing out the set at 25-23.
Leading the Jaspers tonight were
Maike Bertens and
Mikalah Curran, tallying 15 and 11 kills for the Jaspers.
Sarah Emmons led the Jaspers in assists today, setting up 30 for her teammates.
Manhattan will return to action on Sunday, November 12th, at 1:00 p.m. to face Canisius College in Draddy Gymnasium.
