Cole Moves On; Vandercook Named Interim Head Coach

RIVERDALE, N.Y. – Manhattan College's Mike Cole has resigned as head coach to take the associate head coach position at the United States Military Academy.

Cole spent five seasons at the helm of the Manhattan program and collected 90 wins. Cole guided the Jaspers to the program's 15th MAAC Tournament appearance in 2019 and coached 12 All-MAAC selections.

"We wish Mike Cole the best of luck in his future coaching position at Army West Point and thank him for his dedication to our baseball program over the past five years," said director of athletics Marianne Reilly. "Our baseball program is one of the most storied and historic programs in the country, and we are committed to finding the next leader to guide our young men to success both on the field and in their careers."

Manhattan's baseball program dates back to 1863, when Brother Jasper started the program. The Jaspers have recorded over 1,300 wins in program history and have won three MAAC Tournament titles over those 15 appearances. Manhattan has made the NCAA Tournament three times since 2000 and once more in 1957. Since 2000, the Jaspers have won 20-plus games 18 times.

Assistant coach David Vandercook has been named interim head coach while the search for Cole's successor is underway.
