RIVERDALE, N.Y. – Two members of the Manhattan baseball team, graduate student infielder
David Bermudez and junior outfielder
Pete Durocher, made their respective summer league all-star teams.
Bermudez, who has been playing for the Sanford Mariners in the New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL), earned the all-star nod with a .250 average to go along with seven doubles, one triple, and 16 RBIs in 124 plate appearances. The Jasper has also swiped a trio of bags thus far.
Durocher, who is competing in the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL), represented the Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs on the league's all-star roster. Currently, the outfielder is leading the team with an impressive .353 average, 53 hits, 42 runs and four triples to go along with 35 RBIs, which is second on the squad. His .353 average has him in seventh in the PGCBL while the 35 RBIs is sixth in the league.
Bermudez and Durocher were named ABCA/Rawlings All-Region and First Team All-MAAC this past season for the Green & White.
