RIVERDALE, N.Y. – Manhattan's Swim and Dive teams will go up against Monmouth this Saturday at the Horace Mann School. The meet will take place at 1 p.m. at the Jeffrey H. Loria Family Aquatic Center.
After a three-week hiatus, the Jaspers will be competing again this Saturday against Monmouth. This Saturday's matchup will mark exactly one year since Manhattan has gone up against Monmouth. The last time the Jaspers went up against the Hawks, the women lost 220-28, and the men lost 151-65.
The Manhattan men and women will be coming into this meet off a loss against St. Francis Brooklyn, back on Oct. 22. For the men,
Joe Brennan came in second place in the 50-yard freestyle with a final time of 22.39, trailing 0.20 seconds behind first. For the 100-yard backstroke,
Abelardo Cartagena came in second with a time of 56.99, scoring the Jaspers four points.
Branden Deiss placed second in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:06.11.
For the women,
Mackenzie Tuttle came in first in the 200-yard and 100-yard freestyles with times of 1:59.39 and 57.21, earning the Jaspers 18 points.
Kyla Guilfoil came in first place in the 50-yard backstroke with a time of 29.23, only .05 seconds ahead of second place. The women's team also won the 200-yard relay with a final time of 1:44.66.
Monmouth's men and women will be coming into the meet, losing their first four meets, most recently against Iona.
The meet will take place on Saturday Nov. 12, at 1 p.m. at the Jeffrey H. Loria Family Aquatic Center.
