MAAC celebrates its 40th Anniversary throughout the 2020-21 academic year, continuing its mission to provide student-athletes the opportunity to succeed in both academics and athletics.
Swimming & Diving Team highlights some of the best student-athletes in MAAC history. MAAC Swimming and Diving traces back to 1984, when La Salle swept the first MAAC Championship for both the men and women.
The MAAC Swimming and Diving Championships are set to return February 10-13 in 2021 at the Burt Flickinger Center in Buffalo, New York.
Women's Swimming & Diving 40th Anniversary Honorees
Alexandra Hutzler – 2014-18
- Paced the team in scoring at the MAAC Swimming & Diving Championships in each of her four seasons.
- Registered a pair of top-five finishes in the 50 and 100 butterfly at MAAC's.
- Responsible for 12 school records at the time of her graduation, and continues to hold the top marks in the 50 breast, 100 breast, 200 breast, 50 fly, 100 fly, 100 IM and 200 IM.
Courtney Arduini – 2003-07
- Held school records in 13 individual events during her time at Manhattan.
- Also was a member of the 200 free, 400 free, 800 free, 200 medley and 400 medley relays that set school marks.
- Finished 10th at the MAAC Championships in a pair of events.
Megan O'Keefe – 2005-09
- First-ever Jasper to medal at the MAAC Championships, placing sixth in the 100 fly.
- Owned school-records in the 50 fly, 100 fly, 200 fly and 200 free events.
- Also was a member 200 free relay squad that became the first-ever foursome to earn All-MAAC status.
Bridget Latino – 2008-12
- Placed second in the 200 butterfly with still-standing record of 2:04.98 at the 2012 MAAC Championships.
- Also owned school-records in the 100 free and 100 butterfly.
- Capped her career with a fourth-place finish in the 200 butterfly at the ECAC Championships.
Kali Nembach – 2016-20
- Became the first-ever Jasper on the women's' side to win MAAC Swimmer of the Week honors.
- Owns the school records in the 50 free and 100 free.
- Also was a member of the 400 free, 800 free, 200 medley and 400 medley relay teams that set school records.
Men's Swimming & Diving 40th Anniversary Honorees
Robert Varieur – 2009-03
- Placed second at the 2013 MAAC Championships in the 100-freestyle.
- Set school records in the 50, 100, and 200 freestyle events.
- Also was a member of the 200, 400, and 800 free relays that set school records.
Mike Mackay – 2011-15
- Took third at the MAAC Championships in the 200 breast.
- Set school records in the 50, 100 and 200 breast.
- Also notched school records in the 100 IM and 200 IM.
Lance Neuendorf – 2012-16
- Placed third at the MAAC Championships in the 100 back.
- Notched school records in the 50, 100 and 200 back, as well as in the 50 fly and 100 IM.
- Became the first Jasper on the men's side to be named MAAC Swimmer of the Week, since the program was reintroduced in 2009.
Dallan Treanor -2012-16
- Placed sixth at the MAAC Championships in the 100 fly.
- Set school records in the 50 and 100 fly.
- Also was a member of the 200 free and 200 medley relays that set school marks.
Timothy Valentine – 2016-present
- Manhattan's first-ever ECAC Champion, winning the 100 breast.
- Took fourth in the 100 breast at the MAAC Championships.
- Holds the school record in the 50 breast.
