Jaspers Travel To BU Invite

Boston, MA - Manhattan track and field will compete in the BU Valentine Invitational starting February 14. The two-day meet will kick-off Friday at 11:00 am with the women's 5000-meter race. On Saturday, competition will begin at 9:00 am with the men's 5000-meters.

Meet Notes:

Manhattan will compete in 21 events across men's and women's competition.
Fresh off a weight throw PR at the Millrose Games, Enrique Martinez (San Salvador, El Salvador / Barton CC) will again compete in the event at BU, along with Nicholas Kocienda (Seaford, NY / Seaford).
Currently with the MAAC's best shot put performance of the year, Anu Awonusi (Dublin, Ireland / Killkenny College) will look to improve on his distance of 16.99 meters achieved at the 2020 Metropolitan Indoor Championships, where he took home first place.
Alexandra Preckajlo (Ocean, NJ / St. Rose) will compete in both the women's shot put and weight throw at BU after earning a top-five finish in the shot at the Met Championships, throwing a distance of 13.87 meters, her collegiate PR. The distance now stands as the MAAC's best shot put performance of the season. She also earned a second-place finish in the women's weight throw, getting another PR of 16.69 meters and ranking fourth in the MAAC.
Reigning MAAC indoor 200-meter champion Niasia Boone (Morrisville, PA / Pennsbury) will compete in the 200 at BU, as well as the 60-meter race. Last season at BU, Boone earned a fifth-place showing in the 60, recording a time of 8.07.
Cassie Riley (Fair Haven, NJ / Red Bank Catholic) will compete in the women's high jump after earning an indoor PR of 1.60 meters in the event at Mets.
