Manhattan Baseball Summer Update

Riverdale, NY – Led by senior RHP T.J. Stuart in the Cape Cod Baseball League and sophomores Nick Cimillo and Jeff Long earning All Star accolades in their respective leagues, 12 rising Jasper student-athletes are playing in some of the best summer collegiate leagues. Below is an update on how they are faring:

CAPE COD BASEBALL LEAGUE
Senior T.J. Stuart - Hyannis
* Has been unscored upon in three of his four outings
* Has fanned six over 5.0 innings.

PERFECT GAME COLLEGIATE BASEBALL LEAGUE
Sophomore Nick Cimillo - Mohawk Valley
* All-Star selection (game set for July 16)
* Hitting .269 (32-for-119) with a league-leading eight home runs, while adding 27 runs (5th PGCBL), four doubles, 29 RBI (3rd PGCBL) and 17 walks
* Has six multi-hit performances while reaching base safely in 28-of-31 games

Sophomore Carson Coon - Mohawk Valley
* Is 1-0 with a save, a 5.40 ERA and 13 strikeouts over 11.2 innings
* Has been unscored upon in six of his eight appearances and has a 10.1 inning scoreless streak

Junior Matt Padre - Amsterdam
* Hitting .312 (10-of-32) with six runs, a double, home run and 12 RBI
* Named PGCBL Player of the Week on Monday after batting .538 (7-for-13) with a double, home run and 11 RBI over five games

Senior Nick Massa - Amsterdam
* Is 2-0 with a 3.62 ERA and 22 strikeouts over 22.1 innings.
* Has won two of his last three starts, highlighted by striking out a summer-high seven over 5.1 innings in a win over Oneonta (7/12)

Sophomore Luke Walter - Albany
* Is 1-1 with a 5.19 ERA, one save and 11 strikeouts over 8.2 innings.
* Has been unscored upon in five of his eight outings

VALLEY BASEBALL LEAGUE
Sophomore Jonathan Barditch - Covington
* Is hitting .217 (13-of-60) with eight runs, eight stolen bases,  three doubles, three RBI and six walks
* Has three multi-hit performances, highlighted by three-hit outing against the Generals (6/28)

NEW YORK COLLEGIATE BASEBALL LEAGUE
Sophomore Howard Sewall - Mansfield
* Has a 3.60 ERA with 11 strikeouts over 10 innings while limiting hitters to a .176 average
* Registered multi-strikeout performances in four of his seven outings

Sophomore Mason Vaughan - Mansfield
* Is 2-1 with a 6.03 ERA and 14 strikeouts over 25.1 innings
* Didn't allow an earned run over 4.0 innings of two-hit ball in earning the win over Genesee (7/11)

Sophomore David Moffett - Sherrill
* Hitting .303 (20-of-66) with 11 runs, six doubles, a home run and nine RBI with 12 walks
* Has five multi-hit performances while reaching base safely in 17-of-21 games

LONG ISLAND COLLEGIATE LEAGUE
Sophomore Jeff Long - Shelter Island
* All-Star selection, striking out one in a scoreless inning of relief
* Is 1-0 with a 3.91 ERA, one shutout and 15 strikeouts over 20.2 innings while limiting opposing hitters to a .269 average
* Struck out four while scattering just five hits over 7.0 innings in firing a shutout against the Breakers (7/2)

Senior Jose De La Cruz - Sag Harbor
* Is 1-0 with four strikeouts over 12.0 innings
* Has been unscored upon in five outings
