Jaspers Travel To Penn Relays, TCNJ

Philadelphia, PA - Manhattan track and field will take on both the annual Penn Relays and the TCNJ Lions Invitational starting Thursday, April 25. 

Meet Notes:

• This week's meets will be the first time back in action for the Jaspers since the Metropolitan Championships on April 12-13.
• Enrique Martinez (San Salvador, El Salvador / Barton CC), Ryan Addlesberger (Cinnaminson, NJ / Cinnaminson) and Alexandra Preckajlo (Ocean, NJ / St. Rose) each won Met Championships that weekend, with Martinez earning first in the hammer throw, Addlesberger winning the shot put and Preckajlo nabbing first place in the discus. 
• The Manhattan men placed third as a team at Mets, earning 135 points, just one point behind second-place Fordham. The Jasper women finished fourth overall with 107 points.
• Niasia Boone (Morrisville, PA / Pennsbury) won MAAC Performer of the Week honors on April 16 after earning PRs in both the 100- and 200-meters at the Metropolitan Championships, qualifying for the ECAC Championships in both events. Her Met times remain the fastest in the MAAC for this outdoor season. 
• The Jaspers will compete in the women's 4x100, the men's and women's 4x400, the women's javelin and both the men's and women's shot put, discus, and hammer throw at the Penn Relays. Competition will start Thursday at 9:00 am with the women's discus, and will run through Saturday, April 27.
• Manhattan will compete in 17 events at TCNJ in Ewing, NJ. Competition will kick-off with the women's hammer throw on Friday at 1:00 pm. Jaspers traveling to the Lions Invite will also compete through Saturday.
