Edison, NJ – In the annual MAAC Preseason Poll, the conference's head coaches ranked Manhattan Golf tied for seventh ahead of the 2019 spring season, the MAAC announced earlier today.
The Jaspers earned 32 points, equal to Canisius, who also received a first-place vote. Manhattan ranked ahead of Niagara, who rounded out the ballot with 18 points.
Iona, the defending MAAC Men's Golf champions, was predicted to repeat their title in 2019, tallying 72 points and five first-place votes. Saint Peter's slotted behind with a pair of first-place votes and 59 points overall. Siena garnered the other first-place vote and had 58 points. Monmouth, Rider and Fairfield notched the fourth, fifth and sixth spots, respectively.
For three consecutive seasons, the Jaspers have found themselves on the podium at the MAAC Championships with two straight third-place finishes and a second-place result back in 2016. Junior captain

Manhattan's spring schedule opens up on Monday, February 25 with the two-day Alabama State Spring Kickoff in Montgomery, AL, hosted by Alabama State at the Laggon Park Golf Course. Following a training trip during spring break, the Jaspers travel down the I-95 corridor to participate in Towson University's Towson Spring Invitational at the Prospect Bay County Club from Saturday, April 6 to Sunday, April 7. A week later, the Kelly Green and White visit the Great River Golf Club for the SHU Spring Invite. Sacred Heart will host the event from Saturday, April 14 to Sunday, April 15.
The 2019 MAAC Golf Championships takes place at Disney's Magnolia Golf Course from Thursday, April 18 to Saturday, April 20. It is the fifth consecutive year the three-round, 54-hole tournament has been hosted in Lake Buena Vista, FL.
