Men’s Soccer Climbs To Seventh In USC East Region Poll

Full USC Rankings

Kansas City, MO – The Manhattan men's soccer program has advanced to seventh in the United Soccer Coaches East Region Division I Rankings for the Week of September 11, the USC announced on Tuesday.

The ranking arrives a week after the Jaspers made their season debut on the list at eighth place. Manhattan last reached seventh in the USC East Region poll on October 10, 2017, when they were 4-0 in the MAAC heading into a battle for first place with Rider.

Manhattan is coming off a 2-1 week that featured wins against VMI and Liberty. As of September 9, the Jaspers are one of nine teams in Division I soccer with five wins on their season. The Jaspers also rank in the top 10 in the nation with 14 goals and 40 points.

This season's rankings include programs from the MAAC, the Big East and the American Athletic Conference. The Jaspers are the only team on the list to have five wins this season and the only team representing the MAAC. Villanova headlines the list at number one with a 4-1 record.

Manhattan's lone game this week is a Saturday evening tilt with A-10 side Saint Joseph's as part of Alumni Day. The Jaspers will then welcome #11 Fordham to Gaelic Park on Tuesday, September 18 in the Battle of the Bronx.
