NORTH ANDOVER, MA – The Manhattan Jaspers
Men's Soccer team (3-8-2, 1-4-2 Metro) dropped the teams' penultimate road fixture to the Warriors of Merrimack College (4-2-8, 2-0-5 Metro) by a score of 2:1 inside Martone-Mejail Field on Saturday night.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Seeking its third consecutive result and a firm spot in the postseason hunt were the Green and White but looking to do so on the road against a hungry Merrimack program looking to do the exact same.
- The Jaspers opened the contest with pressure from the Warriors attack where Philip Isaksson had to make an early save, before the Green and White countered with three attempts in the opposite direction, courtesy of three different players including Ziv Dahan in the 11th minute.
- After the Warriors struck first down the stretch of the first half, Manhattan leveled the fixture at one with a Merrimack handball in the box, forcing a Cristiano Marsilii successful attempt from the penalty dot for his fifth of the year.
- The Jaspers continued to push with an additional shot from Nicolo Donadio nearly 20 minutes later, but one counter by the Warriors became the difference.
- In response, it was Donadio twice, who put a pair of shots on target, but were denied by the opposing keeper.
