 Manhattan (5-14; 2-1 MAAC) returns to action against Siena (7-12-1) for a key MAAC series at Dutchess Stadium this weekend.

LAST WEEKEND
Manhattan took two-of-three from Niagara in their MAAC-opening weekend thanks to a solid pitching performance that saw senior RHP Shawn Kanwisher notch two saves and Cosgrove strike out 11 over 6.0 solid innings of work. Offensively, sophomore Fabian Pena hit .455 (5-for-11) while senior Evan Brown batted .333 (3-for-9).

FOR THE WIN
Senior RHP Matt Simonetti earned his second win in the the Jaspers' series-clinching victory in the finale against Niagara.

LEADING THE WAY
Cosgrove is third in the nation with 14.42 strikeouts per game and has registered double-figures in strikeouts in each of his last two games.

Cosgrove has pitched 11.0 innings over his last two games with 23 of the 33 outs coming via K. 

LEADING THE WAY
Thanks to Cosgrove, who has 39 strikeouts over 24.1 innings, Manhattan leads the MAAC with 8.5 strikeouts per game.

LAST YEAR VS. SIENA
The teams met just once with the Saints ending the Jaspers' season with a 15-4 win at the MAAC Tournament. Pena went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and three RBI while senior Jason Patnick and junior Adam Genners each had a pair of hits.

STREAKING
Siena has won each of the last four games in the series dating back to the 2015 season.

LAST SERIES VICTORY
Manhattan claimed the series victory over Siena in 2014 thanks to winning a pair of one-run games.

DUFFY VS. SIENA
Sixth year Head Coach Jim Duffy is 7-6, all-time, against the Saints.

DUTCHESS STADIUM
The Jaspers will open their third season at Dutchess Stadium on Saturday and is 20-18 at the facility during that time.

SCOUTING SIENA
Brian Kelly paces the squad with a .368 average while Dan Swain is hitting .275 with three doubles, two triples and six home runs and 16 RBI. On the mound, Tommy Miller has two of the Saints' seven wins while Dylan D'Anna has 18 strikeouts, two saves and a 2.50 ERA over 18.0 innings out of the pen.

PENA NAMED TO JOHNNY BENCH AWARD LIST
Pena was named to the official watch list for the 2017 Johnny Bench Award presented by BaseballSavings.com as announced by the Greater Wichita Area Sports Commission. On the year, he is hitting .352 (25-of-71) with a team-leading 10 runs, eight doubles, one home run and five RBI.

PENA GARNERS PRESEASON HONORS
On the heels of his landmark rookie campaign, Pena was tabbed as the MAAC Preseason Player of the Year in the annual Coaches Poll as well as by Baseball AmericaCollegiate BaseballD1 Baseball and Perfect Game.

TOP PROSPECT(S)
Pena also was selected as the No. 1 MAAC Pro Prospect for the 2018 Major League Baseball (MLB) Draft by D1Baseball.Com and was slated as the 130th top collegiate prospect for the 2018. Cosgrove was also slated as the top prospect for the 2017 MLB Draft by Baseball America and as the fourth-best by D1Baseball.Com. Additionally, Carrera was picked as the No. 10 pro prospect in the circuit by Baseball America.

NEWCOMERS
The Jaspers welcome nine student-athletes to the fold this year, including five pitchers and four position players.

MAAC PRESEASON POLL
Manhattan was tabbed to finish fourth and return to the MAAC Tournament in the annual preseason Coaches Poll for the second-straight year and fourth time in Duffy's tenure in Riverdale.

2006 TEAM INDUCTED TO HALL OF FAME
The landmark 2006 Manhattan Baseball team that upset nationally ranked Nebraska en route to a second-place finish at the Lincoln Regional was selected to the Manhattan College Athletic Hall of Fame this past fall.
