Connor Flannery (Medford, NY / Shawnee) was among a group of people invited to help ring the opening bell for the Nasdaq Stock Exchange as part of the One Love Foundation.
The One Love Foundation was celebrating reaching over 100,000 people with their Escalation Workshop -- a training program that details warning signs of relationship abuse and how to handle them.
Flannery was invited to join because of the Manhattan Men's Lacrosse participation in and helping run an Escalation Workshop for the entire Manhattan Athletic Department. At the time, that was the largest amount of participants in an Escalation Workshop by a college in New York City.
Founded in 2010 to honor the memory of Yeardley Love, who was a senior lacrosse player at the University of Virginia and three weeks away from graduation when she became the victim of domestic violence. One Love works with young people across the country to raise awareness about the warning signs of abuse and activate communities to work to change the statistics around relationship violence.
