EDISON, NJ – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference has released this week's Men's Lacrosse Players of the Week and featured two Manhattan Jasper Men's Lacrosse student-athletes. Faceoff specialist Casey Klossner and attack Nick Henry were named MAAC Faceoff Midfielder and Rookie of the Week, respectively, per release on Monday afternoon.
Coming off a strong effort against the Gaels of Iona University on Saturday afternoon, Casey Klossner posted a conference high 18 ground balls, while posting a faceoff percentage of 73% from the X, converting a total of 22-of-30 on the afternoon.
Klossner's 18 was not only a conference high, but it was a Division I high, surpassing North Carolina's Brady Wambach, who logged a then Division I high against the Iona Gaels on February 15, earlier this season.
Additionally, logging his first Rookie of the Week award was Nick Henry, who led the Green and White with six points at Iona on Saturday afternoon, with three goals and three assists on six shots, while picking up one ground ball.
Through his first five games of his collegiate career, the West Islip native has logged six goals, with all three assists coming in New Rochelle, on 25 shots, and a .240 shooting percentage, and three ground-ball scoops.
