Manhattan Unveils New Court Designs For Draddy Gymnasium

RIVERDALE, N.Y. – Manhattan College Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Noah D. LeFevre has unveiled the plans for the new basketball court at Draddy Gymnasium. The court will feature a state-of-the-art, sleek all-green look with white borders that will help showcase the school's brand.

"The new basketball court design gives us a unique look and helps further the Manhattan College brand ... we want to own the color green,” said LeFevre. “How facilities appear matter and I am happy with the way this important component turned out."

The design, which also features the @GoJaspers twitter moniker, a #GoJaspers hashtag and school's website (www.gojaspers.com) will continue to help cultivate and improve an already distinct culture at Jasper Basketball games.

“I can't tell you how excited we are about the new court, which will add to the Manhattan brand,” said head coach Steve Masiello of the two-time defending MAAC Champion Men's Basketball Team. “It will be another area in which we separate ourselves in college basketball. It will now make Draddy Gymnasium one of the hardest places to play because of the Green Monster.”

Manhattan's new court will also help to enhance the raucous “The6thBorough” student section and one of the finest pep bands while providing one of the best fan experiences in college basketball.

“I am extremely thrilled and excited about our unique new court design,” said head women's basketball coach John Olenowski. “Our student-athletes will really enjoy playing in the new-look Draddy Gymnasium. I am also sure that when our opponents step into Draddy there will be no doubt that they are in Jasper Country.

Additionally, it was announced that the Jaspers' volleyball court will receive a facelift with a new-look design.

“We are excited about the new design of the court and the continual commitment that Manhattan College has shown towards the volleyball program,” said head coach Mark Jones. “As the only school in the MAAC with volleyball-specific branding, it is great for the student-athletes and alumni and in our recruiting efforts.”

Season ticket deposits for both the men's & women's basketball teams are now being accepted. For more information please click HERE.
