RIVERDALE, N.Y. - In continued anticipation for the upcoming 2026-27 basketball season starting in November, Manhattan University's women's basketball program has added a transfer prospect in Mexican-born Ana Zesati, announced by Head Coach Heather Vulin on Friday morning.

Zesati spent her first pair of seasons playing at NJCAA member Lamar Community College, located in Colorado. She also has international playing experience, playing with Team Mexico from 2021-2024 in three different FIBA tournaments, otherwise known as the International Basketball Federation.

"We are thrilled to welcome Ana to our program. At 6'2, she is a versatile forward who fits perfectly into our system with her ability to score both inside and out. She is a proven threat from the three-point line, a relentless rebounder in traffic, and holds a strong defensive presence," commented Vulin.

During her sophomore season at Lamar, Zesati averaged 15 points a game on top of an 8.7 rebounding average. During a late season stretch where the Runnin' Lopes won 13 of 14 games, she tallied four straight games with at least 20 points, including an outing of 31 to be paired with 13 rebounds.

"Ana possesses good hands, elite footwork, and a sophisticated understanding of how to use angles to her advantage. Most importantly, she comes from a 21 win program, proving she knows how to contribute and thrive in a winning environment," continued Vulin.

In her international experience, Zesati most recently competed in the 2024 FIBA U18 Women's Americas Championship, averaging 10.5 points and 7.3 rebounds over six games. Prior to then, she played in the 2023 Centrobasket U17 Women's Championship, showing even more prowess as a rebounder, with 10.8 a night across five games. This included a championship game performance of 15 points on seven-for-15 shooting while piling up 22 boards.

"It's been impressive to watch her trajectory, from her consistent growth with the Mexican National Team to her breakout sophomore season at Lamar. Ana has immense potential, and we are incredibly excited to be a part of her continued journey and development here at Manhattan," concluded Vulin.
