RIVERDALE, N.Y. - In continued anticipation for the upcoming 2026-27 basketball season starting in November, Manhattan University's women's basketball program has added a transfer prospect in New Zealand-born Laura Ring, announced by Head Coach
Heather Vulin on Tuesday morning.
Ring spent her first two seasons at Central Wyoming College of the NJCAA, and is now graduating to Riverdale to join an already loaded transfer class.
"Laura brings a toughness and versatility that immediately elevates our program. She's a physical presence who competes on every possession, whether it's battling on the glass, protecting the rim, or stepping out and knocking down shots from three." commented Vulin.
Across two years competing for the Rustlers, she averaged 12.8 points per game as well as 8.5 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.1 blocks, starting in all but one of her 48 games played.
"As an All-Region player at Central Wyoming, she's proven she can impact the game on both ends of the floor. What excites us most is her ability to stretch the floor, giving us a dimension we've been missing and creates space for everyone else to operate." continued Vulin.
During her sophomore season in 2025-26, she put together four 20+ point performances, including a career-high of 27 in a win over Gillette College where she played all 40 minutes, shooting 10-for-19 from the field.
"Laura's combination of shooting, rebounding, and shot blocking, along with her international background from New Zealand, fits perfectly with our vision and we anticipate her making a big impact." concluded Vulin.
