Edison, NJ – For the second-straight year, Manhattan College will host the MAAC Baseball Championship.
The 2016 MAAC Tournament will take place from May 25-29 at Dutchess Stadium, home of the Hudson Valley Renegades, the Short Season-A minor league affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays that plays in the New York Penn League.
“Manhattan College is once again very excited to be able to host the MAAC Baseball Tournament at Dutchess Stadium," said Manhattan College Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Noah D. LeFevre. "The Hudson Valley Renegades and Dutchess Stadium have been terrific partners for us. We are looking forward to providing a great championship event atmosphere for the students participating.”
Dutchess Stadium features 4,494 seats and also doubles as the home of Manhattan College Baseball program.
"My main responsibility and focus each day is to get our players and baseball program to the Conference Tournament and have them in the best position possible to win a Championship, regardless of where the tournament is being played." said Manhattan Baseball Head Coach Jim Duffy. "With that being said, I am thrilled that the Manhattan College Athletics Administration led by our AD Noah LeFevre and our Associate AD Amanda McEntire have decided to step up and provide the MAAC a great venue for its Championship."
For the third-straight season, the MAAC Baseball Championship will feature a six-team double elimination tournament with three games scheduled for May 25-27 and either one or two games on May 28 to determine the champion. May 29 is set as a rain date.
