RIVERDALE, N.Y.- Manhattan College men's soccer goalkeeper Christopher Lands has been named to the 2010 MAAC All-Rookie Team as announced Thursday night at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference's annual Awards Banquet.
A model of consistency throughout the season, Lands started 14 of the 15 games he appeared in and led the league in both saves (80) and saves per game (5.33) during his freshman campaign.
On Oct. 4, he was named the MAAC Rookie of the Week after making six saves in a contest against Fordham University.
Earning accolades off the field as well as on it, fellow juniors Deia Nassar and Christopher Holihan garnered 2010 MAAC All-Academic Team honors after recording grade point averages of 3.72 and 3.43, respectively. Returning from early season injuries, the two Jasper veterans will be counted on heavily for leadership and strong play in 2011.
