RIVERDALE, N.Y. ? Manhattan College outfielder Kevin Nieto was named to the 2009 ABCA All-America Third Team as announced by the American Baseball Coaches Association. The award complements Nieto's superb junior campaign which featured a team high .396 batting average and NCAA Division I leading 1.57 runs per game mark.
Nieto also collected All-MAAC First Team, ABCA Northeast Region First Team and All Ping!Baseball.com Honorary Mentioned accolades in 2009. The Miami native led the MAAC in runs scored (72). He broke the Jaspers' single season runs record and tied his own single season triples record (6). Nieto is the only MAAC baseball player to earn ABCA All-America status.
