Manhattan Alumnus Tim Leary ?67 Inducted into New York State Basketball Hall of Fame

RIVERDALE, N.Y. - Manhattan College alumnus Tim Leary '67 was inducted into the New York State Basketball Hall of Fame on Saturday at the Heritage Hall of the Glens Falls Civic Center. Leary enjoyed a decorated 35 year coaching career at St. Francis Prep in Queens, and was one of just nine inductees in this year's Hall of Fame class.

The Basketball Coaches Association of New York selected Leary for this prestigious honor based on an impressive coaching resume from his time as head coach at St. Francis Prep, which featured 500+ career victories, seven Division Titles, four Final Fours and a Catholic High School Athletic Association (CHSAA) City Championship. Leary, a 1963 graduate of St. Francis Prep, earned several Coach of the Year honors from different organizations throughout his career.

At Manhattan, Leary helped guide the Jaspers to two National Invitational Tournament appearances in his four years under the direction of Hall of Fame coach Ken Norton, the winningest coach in program history. Leary, a multisport athlete at Manhattan, also lettered four years in baseball.
