RIVERDALE, N.Y. — Manhattan Men's Basketball Head Coach John Gallagher has announced the addition of freshman guard Quron Elliott on Friday morning.

"We're thrilled to welcome Quron Elliott to the Jaspers family," said Gallagher.

"Quron is an exceptional point guard who brings the leadership and court vision we were looking for to run our offense. His development at Mt. Zion Preparatory Academy has prepared him well for the demands of Division I basketball."

Elliott, the Baltimore native attended the prestigious Mount Zion Prep just outside of the Nation's Capital, where he played on the boys' basketball squad for three seasons. While along the Beltway, Elliott finished 24th on SCNext Top 25 2024-25 rankings on ESPN.com, after winning Most Valuable Player of the "2024 5 For the Fight National Hoopfest Tournament" for his 22 points, three rebounds, and three assists performance vs. Utah Prep.

"As a point guard, Quron possesses the basketball IQ and decision-making ability that will be crucial in implementing our system."

He led his team on numerous occasions including pacing Mount Zion with 19 points in a 6-for-12 shooting day, completing a pair of shots from distance, and landing five of seven from the charity stripe in just 25 minutes on the floor, against Episcopal in the later days of June.

Prior to his return to the DMV, Elliott spent a year at AZ Compass Prep during the 2023-24 season, where he registered one assist in as many games played.

Elliott began his evolution at Loyola Blakefield in Towson, MD in 2021-22, performing on the Junior Varsity squad, before moving up to the Varsity team a season later.

Personally, Elliott's uncle Jazwyn Cowan played Men's Basketball for George Washington and Hampton University on the collegiate circuit, then played overseas. Finally, his uncle played for the Auston Toros, the then-San Antonio Spurs D'League Team.

"We're excited about his potential to make an immediate impact and grow into a cornerstone player for our program. Welcome to Manhattan, Quron!"
