Rene Guerra has been named the MAAC Rookie of the Week for the week ending April 2, it was announced today by the MAAC office.
Guerra improved to 2-0 on the season, going five strong innings in the Jaspers' 7-2 win at St. Francis-N.Y. on Wednesday, March 29. The 6-0 rookie allowed just three hits and one earned run, striking out three. On the season, the Miami, Fla. product is limiting opposing hitters to just a .195 batting average while posting a 2.95 ERA.
The Jaspers (11-9 overall, 5-1 MAAC) return to action on Wednesday, April 5, traveling to Easton, Pa. to take on Lafayette at 3:30 p.m. The Jaspers are currently in sole possession of first place in the MAAC.
