Riverdale, NY (June 7, 2005)- The Manhattan women's swimming team earned Academic All-America honors from the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), it was announced recently. The Lady Jaspers placed 12th overall in the nation and were the only MAAC school recognized.
The team earned the honor in the fall semester for the 16th consecutive semester, as Manhattan had the sixth-highest cumulative grade point average among all Division I women's swimming programs. Head coach
Walter Olsewski's squad again earned the honor in the spring 2005 semester, as the team earned a 3.42 cumulative grade point average, achieving Academic All-America honors for the 17th straight semester.
Manhattan finished the 2004-05 season with a record of 10-5, marking the third straight season in which the team has won at least 10 meets.
