Randall's Island, NY (June 1, 2005)- The men's track & field team had three of their throwers advance to the NCAA Championships. Sacramento State and the Sacramento Sports Commission will be hosting the competition in Sacramento, CA from June 8-11.
Juniors
Anders Constantin and
Michael Freeman qualified in the Hammer Throw. Freeman had an automatic bid after his fifth place finish and a seasonal best throw of 61.17m at the NCAA East Regional Championships. Constantin is advancing with an at-large mark. He finished sixth, behind Freeman, with a throw of 60.63m.
Freshman Milan Jotanovic competed at his first ever NCAA East Regional Championship and will be advancing the NCAA Championship in the Shot Put. He placed third with a Manhattan record breaking toss of 19.21m.
Constantin and Freeman will start the qualifying round on Wednesday, June 8 at 1 p.m. The final begins on Friday, June 10 at 2 p.m. Jotanovic starts the Shot Put competition at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 8. If he qualifies for the finals he will compete on Friday, June 10 at 8:15 p.m.
