Matt Rizzotti has been named to the College Baseball Foundation National Honor Roll, it was announced today by the CBF. Rizzotti adds this recognition to the MAAC Rookie of the Week award he received yesterday from the MAAC Office.
Rizzotti got off to a fast start to his college career, batting .486 (17-35), with a homer and six RBI. He posted at least one hit in all nine games, including four multi-hit games. He connected on a single in his first collegiate at bat, and connected on his first collegiate round tripper in just his second college game.
Rizzotti was the only MAAC player recognized, and one of just three from a conference in the northeast. He was one of just 26 players recognized nationally, which includes all Division I conferences.
Manhattan is currently 3-6 and return to action this weekend, when the Jaspers travel to Washington, DC, to take on the George Washington Colonials in a three game series beginning Saturday, March 12 at 12 noon.
