Josh Santerre, who is entering his sophomore season at Manhattan, was named to the New England Collegiate Baseball League All-Star team, it was announced recently by the league office. The game will be played on Sunday, July 25 in Montpelier, VT, with the game slated to begin at 6:30 p.m.
Santerre, a left handed pitcher, earned the spot after compiling a 5-1 record and a 3.51 ERA in the first half of the wooden bat league. He has made seven appearances and six starts for the Vermont Mountaineers, striking out 26 in 41.0 innings of work.
Santerre has received the win in his last four appearances, posting a 1.92 ERA over 23.1 innings, allowing 20 hits and tallying 17 strikeouts against just five walks.
The Mountaineers carry a 17-18 record into tonight's action, good for fifth place in the Northern Division.
