Buffalo, NY (May 2, 2004)-The women's lacrosse team beat Le Moyne, 15-6, in the MAAC Championship final to win Manhattan's second MAAC Championship title.
Victoria Carman led the team scoring three goals and creating one assist. The Lady Jaspers overall record is now 11-7.
Manhattan showed no mercy today as they scored six goals in the first ten minutes of the game. With 1:12 off the clock
Catherine Dunbar scored giving Manhattan a one goal lead. The Lady Jaspers never lost the lead from there. By the end of the first half the Lady J's had an eight goal lead, 10-2.
Dunbar received her third goal of the game two minutes into the second half off a free position shot. Le Moyne went on a scoring streak scoring two goals in less than a minute, decreasing the lead to seven but could not get any closer to Manhattan. With 17 minutes left to play
Jamie Carter assisted
Molly Pheterson's goal and made the score 13-5. Carter scored the second to last goal with 14:41 left on the clock off a free position shot. Manhattan's last goal of the game came when Carman scored an unassisted goal with under eleven minutes to play.
Goalkeeper
Ashley Devins saved nine shots for Manhattan and Le Moyne's goalkeeper Erica Henderson had nine saves.
Victoria Carman was the 2004 MAAC Women's Lacrosse Most Valuable Player. Joining her on the All-Tournament Team is

With the win the Lady Jaspers will play an NCAA play-in-game against Mt. St. Mary's at Gaelic Park in Riverdale, NY on Saturday, May 8 at a time to be determined.
