New York, NY (January 31, 2004)-
Michael Freeman qualified for the NCAA in the Weight Throw with a toss of 19.55m at the Princeton 5-Way held at the Armory. This mark places him in the B Mark in the NCAA marking, which means at the end of the season he has a chance of competing at the NCAA Championships depending on how many athletes make into the A marking.
Kurt Forsyth ran the 200m in 22.10 placing third and qualifying for the IC4A. The men's Distance Medley Relay Team will be joining Forsyth and the other Jaspers at the IC4A after they ran the race in 9:59.12. The team is as followed
Matt Reilly,
Adeniyi Omisore, Joe Van Dyke, and
Tyler Raymond. The women's Distance Medley Relay Team came in at 11:54.46 qualifying for the ECAC. The runners include, Rachel McGee, Linn Modin, Lisa Naucler, and Therese Forsberg.
Four women took first place in today's competition. Theresa Frierson took first place in the 500m running a personal best 1:12.34. She took exactly three seconds off of her fastest time. Jenna Daly pole vaulted 3.45m, Samantha Griffin finished the 60m in a time of 7.80 and lastly, Michanne Campbell jumped 11.74m in the Triple Jump.
On the men's side,
Magnus Ahlen earned first place in the Long Jump after his leap of 7.41m. Teammate
Adeniyi Omisore also earned first in the Triple Jump after his jump of 14.86m.
The Jaspers compete again on Friday, February 6th at 10pm at Draddy and 6pm at MSG in the Millrose Games.
