EASTON, MD (April 19, 2003) - The Manhattan College golf team placed eighth overall at the Second Annual Canisius College Spring Invitational today at the Easton Club in Easton, Maryland. The Jaspers posted a combined total of 655. First place honors were awarded to Long Island University with a two-day score of 619.
Junior Martin Tobias (Yonkers, NY) led Manhattan with a combined tally of 156. Senior captain
Chris Damiano (Scarsdale, NY) recorded a 159, while sophomore
Danny Sirico (Hawthorne, NY) was one stroke behind Damiano at 160.
Tim Hand (Yonkers, NY) posted a two-round score of 173, and junior
Jay Wiederlight (Southold, NY) finished the two-day invitational with a score of 180.
The Jaspers will return to action April 22nd when they participate in the Peacock Invitational at Heron Glen Course.
