BOCA RATON, FL (March 21, 2003) - The Manhattan College softball team used a four-run fourth inning to record a 5-0 shutout over Liberty Friday afternoon at FAU Field. The victory snapped a six-game losing skid by the Lady Jaspers.
Senior
Stephanie Haller was 3-4 with an RBI, while freshman
Jennifer McCracken went 1-3 and drove in two runs. Manhattan erupted for a season-high 12 basehits. Senior Candice Aulogia picked up the victory pitching her second complete game of the season. She allowed just one basehit while walking three and striking out one.
In the second game of the day, the Lady J's managed just two hits against Florida Atlantic in an 8-0 loss. Meg Jurkowski and
Maura Langan were the only Lady J's to hit safely in this one.
Jillian Medea took the loss, working five innings and allowing eight runs on 10 hits with one strikeout.
Manhattan wraps up its Spring Break trip on Saturday, taking on FAU at 2:00 PM and Liberty at 6:00 PM.
