WOMEN'S LACROSSE FALL TO COLUMBIA, 11-2

NEW YORK, NY (March 1, 2003) - The Manhattan College women's lacrosse team dropped its second game of the season this afternoon to Columbia University 11-2. The Lady Jaspers fall to 0-2 overall, while the Lions begin their season 1-0.

Columbia jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first five minutes of play before a pass by junior Mary Dudek (Pearl River, NY) to sophomore Jamie Carter (Williston Park, NY) at the 11:25 mark brought the Lady J's to within one. However, the Lions would go on to score six more goals to end the first half 8-1.

After the break, Columbia continued to dominate the game scoring three more goals before Dudek found an opening at the 49:50 mark to score Manhattan's second goal. Despite 11 saves by sophomore goalkeeper Israpon Pananon (Burtonsville, MD), the Lions would win the game 11-2.

Columbia was led by Adie Moll, who totaled four goals in today's victory.
