RIVERDALE, NY – The Manhattan Jaspers Men's Soccer team (1-2-0) opened its first fixture on home turf in style with a 3-nil clean sheet against the Privateers of Maritime College (0-1-0) on a rainy Wednesday afternoon from inside Gaelic Park.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Coming off two road contests to open the 2026 campaign, the Jaspers were back in action on their home turf on Wednesday afternoon.
• The Green and White wasted no time with three quick shots through the first 15 minutes against the Privateers.
• After a Ziv Dahan shot that went wide four minutes prior, the Jaspers returned to their side of the pitch and struck first with the opening marker from Cristiano Marsilii off a perfect pass from Pau Mascarell.
• The Jaspers remained in overdrive throughout the first half with another five shots tallied, courtesy of three different players including Nicolo Donadio.
• The Privateers and Jaspers, alike, began to see chippy play throughout the opening minutes of the half, with three yellow cards coming within six minutes.
• After Maritime logged its sixth shot of the match, the Jaspers found the back of the net with Ziv Dahan posting his third of the season on a magnificent sequence from both Dohryien Lee and Marsilli.
• Keeping the offense rolling were the Jaspers, who found Tycho van Haaren for his second goal of the season, and put the fixture, officially, in the hands of the Green and White for its first victory of the season.

STATS AND NOTES

• Junior defender Nicolo Donadio logged two shots on target in 81 minutes on the pitch.
• Junior forward Tycho van Haaren scored his second goal of the season on as many shots in 53 minutes.
• Redshirt Junior striker Ziv Dahan posted his third goal of the campaign on a team-high four shots, with two on target in 59 minutes.
• Sophomore midfielder Pau Mascarell posted one assist on the first marker for the Green and White with two additional shots in 36 minutes.
• Sophomore forward Dohryien Lee added one assist in 48 minutes off the bench for the Jaspers.
• Manhattan led the charge with 15 shots, compared to just three for the Privateers, with eight on target.

Junior defender Max Asplin Rowley: "I think today was a big step for us. Great to get the victory at home. Great to see how many people showed up as well. Despite some lapses in the second half, we maintained the clean sheet, which was one of our main objectives. We're all looking forward to Sunday now."

Redshirt Sophomore defender Harrison Vail: "Overall, I thought the game went well. I thought we did a lot of positive things. We will improve as the season goes along. We have to get it rolling now and look ahead to Howard on Sunday.
