RIVERDALE, N.Y. - In continued anticipation for the upcoming 2026-27 basketball season starting in November, Manhattan University's women's basketball program has added a transfer prospect in Turkish-born Ruzgar Christina Boyle, announced by Head Coach
Heather Vulin on Thursday morning.
Boyle spent her first three seasons of college ball gaining NCAA experience, hooping at Division II American International College.
"We are incredibly excited to add Ruzgar to our roster. She's an elite three-point shooter who has proven she can heat up in a hurry, and her ability to knock down as high as nine threes in a single game already speaks to her high level shooting potential," commented Vulin.
Accumulating over 1000 points as a member of the Yellow Jackets, she tallied nightly averages of 11.8 points, 2.3 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and just shy of one steal a game. Her sophomore season in 2024-25 proved to be her breakout, averaging just shy of 15 points (14.6) a night. That year, she ranked in the top 15 for Division II in three pointers made, with 80, as well as top five in the Northeast-10 Conference in scoring average.
"As a combo guard, her ability to play both positions gives us great flexibility in our backcourt. Ruzgar's senior leadership and Division II experience will be invaluable to our program, especially as she helps mentor our younger players, including one of our freshmen also hailing from Turkey," continued Vulin.
In each of her three seasons, Boyle had at least one game with 25 points or more, with her career-high of 28 coming against D'Youville on Nov. 8, 2024. In the first contest of her sophomore year, the Turkey native knocked down 10 of her 23 field goal attempts, while adding three steals. Her efforts have earned her NE10 All-Rookie (2023-24) and Second Team All-Conference (2024-25) in her time at AIC.
"Ruzgar is a competitor who knows what it takes to win, and we can't wait to get her started," concluded Vulin.
