RIVERDALE, NY – The Manhattan Jaspers Men's Lacrosse team (2-10, 0-6 MAAC) dropped its penultimate home contest to the Red Foxes of Marist University (7-4, 5-1 MAAC) by a score of 13-9 inside Gaelic Park on Saturday night.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After the Red Foxes posted the first marker of the contest, the Jaspers knotted the game at one courtesy of Jack Miller, after a marquee Ryan Beller save and clearance.
- Another response by Marist led to a second deficit, before Thomas White's second chance opportunity found the back of the net to tie the game at two.
- In the second quarter, the Jaspers found their rhythm after trailing by two, and put together three consecutive goals to take their first lead of the day heading into the locker room.
- The Jaspers were outscored with six consecutive goals in the third quarter, before responding midway through the fourth with their sixth goal from Miller again off a Marist turnover to cut their deficit to as little as six.
- Both teams then traded goals within short spans before Tyler Mosca added the team's eighth goal following a pair of missed attempts from the opposition, including a team block in the passing lane.
- In the waning seconds of the game, Nick Henry logged the ninth and final goal, after the Jaspers had suffocated the Red Foxes with three consecutive attempts.
