RIVERDALE, N.Y. – The Manhattan Jaspers softball team (8-21, 4-7 MAAC), dropped the third and final game of its series against the Mountaineers from Mount St. Mary's (9-20, 6-4 MAAC), by the final score of 8-1 at Gaelic Park on Sunday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Emma Tawney of the Mountaineers got the scoring started with a two-run jack in the top of the opening frame.
- After an insurance run in the second for The Mount, Sophia Kiseloski scraped together the first hit of the game for the Green and White in the home half, a single to right field.
- Lainey Brown and Kendall Penny loaded the bases off of a hit by pitch and walk, respectively.
- Mount St. Mary's broke the game open in the third inning, piling on five more runs highlighted by a two-RBI double, stretching out their advantage to 8-1 by the end of the frame.
- Isabella Coulman's single in the bottom of the third served as the final hit for Manhattan, with no more offense being generated over the final four innings.
STATS AND NOTES
- Senior utility player Sophia Kiseloski and Sophomore outfielder Isabella Coulman each tallied a hit in today's outing.
- Freshman utility player Natalye DeBus had the most impressive performance in the circle, pitching the final five inning while allowing zero earned runs off of three hits and striking out five.

Manhattan will continue its 2026 campaign on Tuesday, March 31, when they dip their toes back into non-conference action against the Knights from FDU. First pitch is scheduled for 3:00 PM from FDU Softball Field, broadcasted live on NEC Front Row.
