LAKE PLACID, NY – The Manhattan Jaspers Men's Golf program competed in the Columbia Autumn Invitational, hosted by Columbia University, on Saturday and Sunday at Lake Placid Golf Club.

HOW IT HAPPENED

·      Opening in Lake Placid with a birdie was Aidan Clark, who put together two quality strokes on the second hole of the first round.
·      Throughout the front nine of the first round, Aidan Talent logged four holes sinking par, before adding a birdie on the sixth hole's 407-yard marker.
·      Down the stretch of the front nine, Robert Leo Arnorsson posted two birdies on the fifth and seventh holes, before closing out the last two holes with par.
·      Walter Carley posted par on all but one hole on the front nine, before posting his lone birdie on the 10th hole to open the back side.
·      On the back nine, it was Talent who turned on the jets rather quickly, with a commanding stretch of play to accrue three strokes under par, capitalizing with four birdies, with just one bogey on the final green.
·      Continuing for the Jaspers on the back nine was Akshay Mandadapu, who cruised through with another three birdies, while notching a bogey on just the 11th green.
·      In the second round, Mandadapu continued right where he left off with five consecutive pars to open the respective round.
·      On the back nine, the Jaspers shone, with a combined 11 birdies between the six, with Talent leading the way with four birdies in a stretch of five holes.
·      Towards the tail end of the second round, it was Walter Carley who shot up ten spots on the individual leaderboard with birdies on the 15th and 17th holes to close out a respectable round.
·      In the third and final round, it was Talent again, who paced the team with an eagle on the 13th hole, before securing an additional two birdies and par the remainder of the way to round out an official 12th place finish.

QUOTES FROM THE JASPERS

Head Coach Keith Prokop: "Our boys fought their tails off this weekend up north; just a couple bad stretches across each round prevented us from being able to put together a good round each day. We are not too far off need to capitalize on our opportunities when presented and eliminate a couple more of the unforced errors, and we will be back where we need to be."
