Dahan’s Penalty Kick Goal Gives Men’s Soccer Back-to-Back Results v. Rider

RIVERDALE, NY – The Manhattan Jaspers Men's Soccer team (3-7-2, 1-3-2 Metro) settled for a draw against the Broncs of Rider University (7-3-3, 3-2-2 Metro) with the score at 1:1 on Saturday night from Gaelic Park.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • A tale of two halves began with the Jaspers in full control of the fixture, with eight attempts for the Green and White in the first 15 minutes, led by Ziv Dahan, who posted five of his own, with a pair on target to test the Rider backline early.
  • Back and forth between the two programs continued, as goalkeeper Philip Isaksson continued to shine on his goal line with a pair of kick saves down the stretch to keep the fixture scoreless.
  • After Rider leapt in front of Manhattan just six minutes into the second half, the Broncs continued to keep their foot on the gas, with the Jaspers playing catch up.
  • One miscue by the Broncs allowed the Jaspers to swing the momentum back in its favor with a handball in the 18-yard box, and after review, sent Dahan to the line seeking his fourth goal of the season.
  • Once successful, Dahan and the Jaspers kept its foot on the gas and continued to pepper attempts at the direction of the Broncs backline and keeper.
  • A swing of momentum back to the opposition put pressure on Isaksson and the backline of Manhattan but came away with the draw after the impressive goalkeeper continued to shine with seconds to go, forcing an attempt away via the punch of the soccer ball at the top of the box.
