STORRS, CT – The Manhattan Jaspers Men's Soccer team (1-2) fell to the Huskies of UConn (2-0-2) by a score of 5-1 inside Joseph J. Morrone Stadium on Sunday evening.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Trekking northbound for its second road fixture, were the Jaspers, who faced the Huskies for the sixth time in program history, dating back to 2011.
- Following an onslaught of attempts from UConn, Manhattan found its rhythm with captain Henry Hamilton finding James Lucas to give the Green and White a lead.
- Just one minute later, the Huskies responded with a goal of its own before never looking back.
- The Jaspers ended up with an additional two shots down the stretch of the first half from Gregory Sprenkel and Martin Rodriguez.
STATS AND NOTES
- Senior goalkeeper Ludvig Malberg logged nine saves on 30 shots faced, with 14 on target.
- Freshman midfielder Henry Reinhart recorded a team high three shots on goal in 79 minutes on the pitch.
- Senior forward Henry Hamilton added one assist and registered two shots on target in 61 minutes of match action.
- Coming off a four-goal performance, freshman striker Martin Rodriguez tallied one shot on goal in 77 minutes.
- All eight shots for the Green and White were on-target.

The Green and White are back in action on Saturday, September 6 as the Jaspers trek eastbound to Long Island to face the Sharks of LIU for a 1 p.m. from the LIU Soccer Park. The fixture will be viewable on NEC Front Row.
