STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – The Manhattan Jaspers Women's Soccer team (1-1-3) drew Sunday afternoon against the Seahawks from Wagner (1-0-2) by a score of 1-1 in Staten Island.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Junior midfielder Kaylee Stowell and forward Amaya Hill kept the pressure on early, combining for three shots through the first ten minutes of play.
- On their first shot in nearly 20 minutes, Amaya Hill netted her first goal of 2025 to break the ice in the 29th minute.
- Freshman goalkeeper Julianna Mosca thwarted Wagner's closest chance in the first half shortly after Hill's score.
- The Seahawks' Izzy Gomez responded less than 90 seconds after the halftime break, knotting the score at one apiece.
- Offense ramped up in the second set of 45, with a combined six shots on goal following the equalizer.
- Amaya Hill brought the closest chance of a second goal with a shot that reamed off the post in the 75th minute.
STATS AND NOTES
- The Jaspers combined for 15 shots, their highest total since the 19 registered against Delaware State on 8/19.
- Julianna Mosca finished with three saves, tying her season-high for the third time.
- Senior midfielder Nevaeh D'Aloia registered her first two shots of 2025, both on goal.
- Amaya Hill's seven shots, five of which came on goal, are both career-highs for the West Point native.
