Riverdale, NY- On February 1st, the Jasper Dancers attended the NDA regional competition at Walt Whitman High School in Huntington Station, NY.
The Jasper Dancers competed in two events at the Walt Whitman Invitational, Jazz and Hip Hop. The team would take home first place in College Hip Hop and third place in College Jazz. Additionally, the team was awarded an Innovative Choreography award.
This is the first regional competition the team has attended since 2020. Coaches Madeline Donohue and Brylee Watkins hope that this success will better prepare the team for NDA Nationals in April, where they will compete in Division 1 Hip Hop and Jazz. In 2024, the team placed third in Hip Hop and were named National Champions in 2019 at the Division-1 level! Additionally, in 2024, the team received the highest score in program history for Division 1 Jazz.
Spring semester is the busiest time of the year for the dance team. While preparing their competition routines, the Jasper dancers also attend every Men's and Women's home basketball games and the MAAC Tournament in Atlantic City. You can follow them at
