RIVERDALE, NY – The Manhattan Jaspers Men's Basketball team (4-8, 1-1 MAAC) dropped its contest to the Paladins of Furman University (8-4, 0-0 SoCon) by a score of 75-68 inside Draddy Gymnasium on Thursday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • After nearly a week following the Battle of the Bronx, the Green and White were back in the friendly confines of their home building for the penultimate non-conference contest of the campaign.
  • Getting this off and running was Marko Ljubicic with a hook shot nearly 90 seconds into the game.
  • Once the Paladins leapt in front by six, it was Devin Dinkins to sink a booming triple to bring the Jaspers within three, five and a half minutes in.
  • With the hammer for the second straight game was Erik Oliver-Bush, who was fed the lob by Jaden Winston, to complete the alley-oop.
  • Manhattan then went on a nine-point run highlighted by Winston's floater, followed by a three-pointer to give the Jaspers their largest lead of the night at two possessions.
  • Two minutes into the second half, Ljubicic sank a go-ahead three-pointer to once again put the Green and White in front by one point.
  • After trailing by five points seven minutes into the stanza, Manhattan slowly mounted its comeback with five straight points from Dinkins and Anthony Isaac, before Terrance Jones sank yet another go-ahead three-pointer to capitalize on an 8-0 run with 11 and a half minutes remaining.
  • In the final minutes, Dinkins hit a step-back jumper to narrow the Jaspers' deficit to six before Isaac added two free throws.
  • With 42 seconds remaining, Winston put together an additional two free throws to bring its deficit to just three, before Furman's Bronson sank the dagger.
