ANNAPOLIS, Md. - After a cross-borough trip earlier this week, Manhattan looks to get in the win category for the first time this year following a non-conference loss at Fordham. Leading Manhattan in the points category has been Senior guard
Brianna Davis, tallying double figures in all but one of the Jaspers' first five games. Graduate transfer Agar Farrés Garcia is establishing herself as the defensive anchor on the team, averaging 10.8 rebounds per game. That number both leads the MAAC and posts as 17th across Division I. Senior Hana Mühl has helped the offense facilitate, averaging 3.8 assists per game, good enough for 2nd across the MAAC. The Green and White make their way to Annapolis for the Navy Classic, squaring off with the Midshipmen on Saturday, followed by a closeout game against Liberty at 3:30 on Sunday.
Scouting the Opposition:
•After opening the 2025-26 season with a 4-0 start, the Navy Midshipmen dropped their first contest of the season this past Sunday to the Spiders from Richmond 69-56.
•Prior to their inaugural loss, the Mids picked up wins against Delaware on the road, as well as Longwood, Rider, and SEC member Florida inside Alumni Hall.
•Led by Junior guard Zanai Barnett-Gay, the Glenn Dale, Md. native is currently leading the Patriot League with 19.4 points per game, ranking inside the top 40 nationally.
•Barnett-Gay's 9.2 boards a night both lead her team and slides in at third in the Patriot League. Her seven double-double's place her seventh in Division I.
•Freshman guard Zoe Mesuch has established herself as the outside threat for the Mids, knocking down three or more shots beyond the arc in her first three contests and averaging 13.8 points per contest.
•The Mids come off a 2024-25 season where they finished 19-12, going 11-7 inside Patriot League play.
•Earning the fourth seed in time for the 2025 Patriot League Championship, Navy dropped its opening round matchup to fifth-seeded Holy Cross 66-52. After accepting a WNIT invite, they also dropped their final game to Old Dominion 63-42.
•This will serve as the second ever matchup between Navy and Manhattan, with the Jaspers picking up the 54-51 win at a neutral site to open the 1988-89 season.
