Isaac Posts Double Digits; Men’s Basketball Falls to Hawaii

HONOLULU, HI – The Manhattan Jaspers Men's Basketball team (2-2) fell to the Rainbow Warriors of the University of Hawaii (3-1) by a score of 86-56 inside Bankoh Arena at Stan Sherriff Center on Saturday night.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Jaspers looked to build off its opening game victory over Utah Tech on Wednesday evening with a nail-biting four-point win against the Trail Blazers.
  • Opening the game with the icebreaker was sophomore guard Erik Oliver-Bush with a dunk down low, after Devin Dinkins fed the reigning NE10 Rookie of the Year a perfect pass.
  • Following a brief run from the Rainbow Warriors, Dinkins took advantage of a bad pass from Hawaii and found Anthony Isaac, before Dinkins himself sank his first triple of the night to narrow the Bows' lead to just two possessions.
  • The Jaspers kept it close as both teams were trading highlighted by Jaden Winston capitalizing off another Hawaii turnover.
  • Starting the second half on the right note, were the Green and White, who were able to put its defensive prowess on display with a Winston steal that led to another Oliver-Bush dunk to open the stanza.
STATS AND NOTES
  • Junior forward Anthony Isaac paced the Green and White with 17 points on eight-of-14 shooting from the field, that included four rebounds in 19 minutes on the floor.
  • Redshirt junior guard Devin Dinkins added six points to his ledger on two-of-eight from the floor, while assisting on four baskets in 33 minutes of game action.
  • Junior guard Jaden Winston logged six points that included a pair from the charity stripe in six total attempts, while assisting on three baskets in 32 minutes.
  • Freshman guard Quron Elliott posted seven points on two-of-three shooting, and grabbed two rebounds, and assisted on one basket in 11 minutes.
  • Freshman guard Omari Moore netted his first collegiate triple on a total of two shots from distance in six minutes.

Manhattan concludes its Hawaii trip in the OUTRIGGER Rainbow Classic on Saturday, November 15, when the Green and White take on the Delta Devils of the Mississippi Valley State University for a 9:30 p.m. (ET) start from inside Bankoh Arena at Stan Sherriff Center.
