Women's Basketball Adds Four To 2026-27 Roster on National Signing Day

RIVERDALE, NY - Following National Signing Day, Manhattan University Women's Basketball Head Coach Heather Vulin announced today the signings of four prospective student-athletes, set to begin their time in Riverdale during the 2026-27 academic year.

Kennedy Brown, Cortney Howell, Bleu Kerr, and Nisan Sel will all arrive on campus in the fall of next year and will look to make an impact on Vulin's established style of winning basketball.

Brown comes to the Manhattan by way of Jefferson, New Jersey, intending to graduate from Morris Catholic High School and was former teammates with current Jasper Tatianna Collins. She shows a further connection to the program in being coached by former head coach Michelle Sharp (1992-1998) at the AAU level. While at Morris Catholic, Brown was a vital piece to two state championships, in addition to starting for all four years.

"We love the fierceness and toughness that Kennedy plays with. She will be an impact on both sides of the ball and will be a dynamic combo guard that will blossom in our uptempo style of play," commented Vulin on Brown.

Howell hails from Boston, Massachusetts, playing both basketball and volleyball at St. Mark's School. There, she averaged a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds per contest. For her efforts in the northeast, she was awarded the ISL All-Leyte Award, St. Marks School MVP, as well as being an honorable mention for NEPSAC MVP.

"Cortney is an elite athlete that can play the power forward and small forward. Besides her athleticism, she is a threat from the three point line and has shown she can score and rebound at an elite level," added Vulin on Howell.

Kerr also comes to Riverdale via Boston, and also from St. Mark's School like her current teammate Howell. There, she was both an all-star and an honorable mention for All-NEPSAC. Kerr and Howell both also play on the same AAU team together.

"Bleu is a powerful athlete and crafty scoring guard. We think she will be a tough matchup with her ability to be a playmaker and create scoring opportunities for herself and her teammates. We think the on-court chemistry between her and Cortney will be exciting," continued Vulin on Kerr.

Sel serves as the lone international signee for Vulin, a trend she has used to her advantage on the court. With the current roster consisting of five foreigners, Sel looks to come in as a new generation of overseas Jaspers, currently living in the town of Anakara, Turkey. There, playing for TED Ankara Kolejliler Sports Club, she has averaged nearly 13 points per game, along with seven assists and five rebounds. In her freshman and sophomore seasons, she competed in the U16 National Championships, finishing with the assist leader award and earning a spot on the U16 National Team. In 11th grade, she accomplished both of these feats again in the U18 division.

"Nisan has elite court vision as a point guard. She has consistently throughout her career made her teams better with her ability to set up her teammates and push the tempo. Her experience and success at the international level is an incredible addition to our program."
